Getting to Ithaca

Ithaca is famously known to be "centrally isolated" --- we sincerely appreciate all of you making the trek to come out here! Here are a few travel options for getting to Ithaca:

If you are coming from New England or Pennsylvania, the easiest solution is probably to drive. Ithaca is approximately a four hour drive from New York City / Philadelphia, and a five hour drive from Pittsburgh / the Boston metro area.

Additionally, multiple bus routes go between Ithaca and New York.

If you're coming from further away, there are multiple airports you can use. In order of closest to furthest, a few are:

  • Ithaca's airport;
  • Elmira Corning Regional, which is a 45 minute drive;
  • Syracuse's airport, which is a one-hour drive away;
  • Rochester, which is a two hour drive;
  • Buffalo, which is a 2.5 hour drive;
  • and Newark/NYC airports, which is a four hour drive.

Map of Ithaca

Here we've saved our essentials and favorite restaurants. Ithaca is known for its natural beauty, with great hiking trails, gorges, and Lake Cayuga to swim in. The Finger Lakes region is also known for its wineries and cideries. Check out the map above to see our favorite selections!

Accommodations

We have a discount code for La Tourelle:

Birba26

La Tourelle is a 20 minute drive to the venue.

Ithaca gets crowded during the summer, so we recommend booking your accommodations well in advance.

AirBnB/VRBO: There are a variety of options available in Ithaca. We love staying in the Fall Creek or Downtown neighborhoods, where you can easily walk to restaurants and coffee shops. Or, Trumansburg, a small village northwest of Ithaca, similarly close to our venue.

Hotels: There are some great hotels downtown (also known as 'the commons'), La Tourelle, an inn/spa on South Hill, among others.

Getting around: There's a lot of Ithaca you can explore without a car, but please note that our venue is not accessible via public transit. There are ubers, taxis, and rental cars available within Ithaca and the surrounding areas. Being a small city in a rural area, Uber is easily accessible close to downtown, but will take longer if you stay further out of town.

Please reach out to us if you have any questions about where to stay!

Gifts

All we ask is your presence. If you still wish to give a gift, we ask for you to contribute to our honeymoon fund or donate to either NPR or the ACLU on our behalf.

FAQ

Where is it again?

1500 Taughannock Blvd, Ithaca, NY 14850

What time is it again?

We're planning to begin the ceremony promptly at 4pm!

What's the venue like? Inside/Outside?

Yes! The ceremony will be outdoors with a brief unpaved walk to the ceremony space (leveled rocks) nestled in the trees - weather permitting. The reception will take place in the Lodge, which has A/C for the dance floor/bar and tented spaces for dinner and lounging!

What do I wear?

Please dress to celebrate-- we want you walking safely and boogying with us!

What about children?

We will only be having siblings' children at the event.

Do I need a car?

If you wish to explore Ithaca or the Finger Lakes region, a car is recommended. We will have plenty of parking onsite at the venue. If you do not wish to bring or rent a car, Uber and Lyft do operate in Ithaca, as well as a few taxi companies; in this case, we recommend staying in downtown Ithaca, which is very walkable.
